This course covers the changes to the wall bracing requirements initiated in the 2012 North Carolina Residential Building Code. It also covers the simplified procedure of the 2018. Extensive changes to the wall bracing requirements have been made that will make all existing standard plans obsolete. This is a “hands on”, “how to” course. After the code changes are discussed and examples are worked, the attendees will have an opportunity to work through a simple house plan to determine the location of the braced wall lines as well as the location and quantity of braced panels required.
