Brad began his career in the construction industry under the tutelage of his father, a third generation general contractor. From an early age he learned how to effectively work with trades and builders. Paired with his formal education, Brad's affinity for conservation has shaped him into a practically-minded, determined and intelligent energy professional who acts with poise and tact.
Brad has performed extensive testing and verification services on homes and businesses including single-family to multifamily and existing to new homes. His current certifications include RESNET Quality Assurance Designee, HERS Rater, NGBS Verifier, BPI Building Analyst and ACCA’s Residential Design for Quality Installation.
As an active member of the community, Brad currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Winston-Salem Home Builders Association and is actively involved with several committees. Brad is frequently asked to speak to community groups about participating in sustainable living and making homes more energy efficient.
Brad's role at NC Building Performance Association is to lead the association's technical programs, services and support of member companies and partner organizations. In this role, Brad provides quality assurance services and technical assistance to home energy raters across the state, performs HVAC load calculations for member companies and more. Brad has performed several trainings for Home Builders Associations and is an approved trainer for the green building certification program, Green Built NC.
