Matt Dovenbarger

As a RESNET certified HERS Rater, Quality Assurance Designee and Certified Rater Trainer and NGBS Verifier, Matt has an active role in maintaining the quality and consistency of Southern Energy Management's HERS rating services across North and South Carolina. Matt entered the construction industry as almost 20 years ago and has worked in many trades including framing, roofing and insulation . With a passion for building science and renewable energy, Matt attended Appalachian State and to pursue a graduate degree in building science. As a former BPI Building Analyst working in various state and utility funded weatherization programs, Matt also has a well rounded perspective of problems that can arise in both new and existing construction. With a passion for seeking solutions and ways to implement them, Matt and the team at Southern Energy Management strive to help builder partners meet and exceed the requirements for building programs such as Energy Star, ecoSelect and NGBS as well as other utility and incentive programs.
